We left the relative discomfort of Chez Penelope this morning for our adventure to The Boonies. I should explain, The Boonies is where Lil Sis lives, with Himself, (her husband), and their 2 sons, LNI and LNII, and the enormous black lab, Hamish. The Boonies are just south of East Bumfuck, basically, the middle of nowhere!!
I decided to bring the gorgeous new laptop with me so that I could blog-from-the-road, so to speak. Also, on the off chance that the Lil Fella decides to make an appearance then I will get first scoop!
On this subject, we have spent the day doing everything we possibly can to get this baby moving. Lil Sis and I think it would be perfect timing if it all kicked off while we are staying, so we're trying everything! We ate a huge lunch of pasta and pesto and then chunks of fresh pineapple, which is supposed to induce labour. (What it does for those of us who aren't pregnant, I don't know! Maybe I can lose extra weight this way?) We then took the 4 children and 2 dogs off or a long walk in the forest. We walked for about an hour and a half, and the children were so disgustingly muddy that they were all tipped straight into the bath as soon as we got back. Lil Sis was quite tired after the walk:

Lil Sis showed us the finished Nursery and I have never seen Lil Miss P so excited...ever! She said this is more exciting than any Birthday or Christmas. Bless her!!
Himself is currently cooking a curry for our supper, which combined with a couple of glasses of wine should definitely get the party started! Either that or she'll just fall asleep. As I type this she is sitting opposite me yawning. She doesn't think I noticed!

You will be pleased to know that we are prepared though. I have read the section of the pregnancy book that deals with "Emergency Deliveries", so if it all kicks off too quickly and the midwife can't make it, or gets double booked maybe, then I will have everything under control. Fear not Lil Sis!!
